Enrollment for the Great Neck public and private school kindergarten programs for the 2021–22 school year will begin on Jan. 25, 2021. All registration applications are now processed online.
The early kindergarten registration period will begin on Jan. 25 and run through Feb. 5. Parents are strongly encouraged to register their child(ren) for kindergarten during this time. Following the conclusion of the early registration period, student registration will continue on an ongoing basis.
Any child who legally resides within the school district and will be at least five years old on or before Dec. 1, 2021, is eligible to register for kindergarten for the 2021–22 school year. All children who will attend public or private school kindergarten in September 2021 need to be registered. Please note that students currently enrolled in the district’s Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program do not have to register for kindergarten.
The following items are necessary to register a child for kindergarten: (1) Proof of district residency (deed, current tax bill, or closing statement, if ownership; current signed lease or current rent receipts, if rental). (2) Three pieces of current, official mail. (3) Child’s original birth certificate. (4) Parent or guardian valid photo ID. (5) Parental control papers (if applicable). (6) Immunization certificate signed and stamped by a physician or other authorized health agency.
