GNPS Welcomes New Faculty
At the orientation held prior to the opening of the Great Neck Public Schools, new faculty were welcomed by Board of Education President Barbara Berkowitz and Board Trustees Donna Peirez, Rebecca Sassouni, and Jeffrey Shi; Superintendent Dr. Teresa Prendergast; Assistant Superintendents Dr. Joseph Hickey, Dr. Stephen Lando, Kelly Newman, and John Powell; Great Neck Teachers Association (GNTA) President James Daszenski; Association of Supervisors and Administrators (SAGES) President Sharon Applebaum; and other administrators.
New Administrators
Four new principals have joined the Great Neck Public Schools: Dr. Michael Grimaldi at E.M. Baker School; Kathleen Murray at Parkville School; Luciana Bradley at Saddle Rock School; and Dr. Gina Cartolano at South Middle School. There are also four new assistant principals in the district: Michelle Bell at J.F. Kennedy School; Sara Goldberg at Saddle Rock School; and Leonard DiBiase and Ryan Nadherny at South Middle School.
Elementary Teachers
New elementary teachers are listed below, by school, with their subject areas in parentheses.
Cindy Lipper (psychologist) is a new faculty member at E.M. Baker School. Julie Goldin (social worker) will work in E.M. Baker and Saddle Rock School, and Gabriella Duke (psychologist) will provide services for E.M. Baker School, Saddle Rock School and private schools within Great Neck.
New teachers at J.F. Kennedy School include: Ashley Fruchter (grade 2), Patrick Kennedy (music), Alexandra Lambraia (music), Nicole Sileo (physical education), and Rachel Sudran (grades K-1).
Lakeville welcomes Jennifer McGovern (grade 4) and Michele Ng (social worker).
Parkville welcomes Dara Gelb (kindergarten) and Shannon Murphy (prekindergarten).
New teachers at Saddle Rock School are: Brittany Lahti (grade 5), Beth Levy (grade 2), Bryan Patterson (physical education), and Bernadette Phelan (grade 5).

New teachers are North High are: Lisbel Dia (English as a new language), Sarah Ketcham (English), Emily Rice (English), Kenneth Rice (math), Jennifer Sixsmith (social studies), Marlese Swarsen (physical education), and Caroline Whelan (art).
New teachers at North Middle School are: Heather Blasi (guidance counselor), Kimberley Bliss (English), Alison Caracciolo (English), Carrie D’Oria (health), John Frole (math), Ashley Linehan (English), Thomas Livingston (science), Lauren Norris (science), Arielle Panzarino (home and careers), Franshuas Rodriguez (foreign language), Katherine Russo (special education), Jessie Sabino (English), William Siciliano (technology), Desiree Viruet (special education), and Sanaz Yadegar (special education).
New teachers at South High are: Aeneas Carravetta (math), Jacob Friedman (foreign language), Donald Herr (physical education), Alexander Redito (social studies), Gina Russo (library media specialist), Emma VanDyne (English), and Amelia White (library media specialist).
New teachers at South Middle include Victoria Andreacchi (English), Kelly Backus (health), Jesse Bichko (English), Jennifer Hill (guidance counselor), Jecelyn Scauzillo (guidance counselor), and Angela Valli (foreign language).
Village School welcomes Susan DiCarlo (English).
New staff members Eileen Fusco (psychologist) and Maria Hanakis (psychologist) will provide services for private schools in Great Neck.
