Dr. Levy Selected to Speak at Music Education Conference
Dr. Pamela Levy, Fine and Performing Arts Chair at North High School, has been selected to present at the Maryland Music Educators Association Annual Conference. Her virtual workshop, "Teaching Music in the 21st Century: Inclusiveness, Equity, and Collaboration," is one of the first sessions offered during the three-day statewide conference from March 5-7.
Dr. Levy is among the esteemed guest speakers who will share innovative strategies for reaching all students through various modes of instruction, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid instruction. Her program will specifically address equity, inclusion, and the use of technology as a tool for providing resources and a means of interconnection between school districts.
Dr. Levy’s career as a music educator spans more than 30 years. In addition to leading the vocal music program and serving as the Chair of Fine and Performing Arts at North High, Dr. Levy has also taught Facing History, a course that examines historic atrocities through Arts education.
The theme of this year’s MMEA Conference is, “A More Inclusive Music Education: Seeking Tomorrow’s New Normal”. MMEA is a state affiliate of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME).
