North High School will present Little Shop of Horrors, the Broadway and Hollywood sci-fi hit musical by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken. Performances will be on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 15 and 16, at 7:30 p.m., and on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 8 p.m. (Please note that there will not be a performance on Saturday afternoon, which is listed the district calendar.) All performances will take place in the school’s auditorium, 35 Polo Road.
Little Shop of Horrors tells the tale of meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn, who stumbles across a new breed of plant that he names “Audrey II,” after his coworker crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore promises unending fame and fortune to the down-and-out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding it—blood. Over time, though, Seymour discovers Audrey II’s out-of-this-world origins and intent towards global domination.
