Saddle Rock Continues Partnership with the Ronald McDonald House

Fifth graders at Saddle Rock School are continuing their partnership with the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island. Since 2011, fifth-grade classes at Saddle Rock have participated in a year-long service learning project with this organization.

At the beginning of the program, students meet with volunteers from the organization to better understand the services provided by the Ronald McDonald House. Then, each class takes a field trip to the House and donates supplies such as paper towels and dish soap. Students also bake fresh, sweet treats in the Ronald McDonald kitchens for families staying at the house. Finally, they conduct a month-long read-a-thon to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House. Over the past nine years, Saddle Rock students have raised over $30,000 through this partnership!
