Technology Loan Program Helps District Families

A male district technician is shown holding an iPad and a WiFi device during a technology pick-up event for families in need. With the help of elementary school administrators, social workers, and classroom teachers, the district was able to identify families with students in PreK through grade 3 in need of a technology loan program during this school closure.

Working behind the scenes, our district technicians, with assistance from our security staff, implemented four contactless drive-thru device pickup times while maintaining social distancing for these families to borrow an iPad, a WiFi Hotspot, or both.

Together with our Instructional Technology 1:1 iPad Initiative for grades 3-12, these efforts are providing more equitable access to remote learning and helping to close the digital divide in our community.
