Saddle Rock Celebrates National Family Literacy Month

Saddle Rock staff members stand in the school's main lobby, dressed as book characters, to greet students.

November is National Family Literacy Month, and Saddle Rock School students and staff ushered in the celebration by dressing as book characters on Oct. 30. Superintendent Dr. Teresa Prendergast joined Principal Luciana Bradley, Assistant Principal Sara Goldberg, and all Saddle Rock staff as they greeted students upon arrival to school. The full-day event included fun literacy projects, including grade-level read-alouds on Zoom hosted by Saddle Rock’s Literacy Coordinator, Jamie Hackman. In preparation for the celebration, classes discussed different children’s books and students planned costumes to represent their favorite characters.
