Academics:
- Every class is taught by a professor and TA do not teach at all!
- Their general education requirements are comprehensive and students also must complete and interdivisional requirement by selecting a course from one of seven interdisciplinary programs.
- Denison has some innovated programs one of them is the PPE major which combines Philosophy, Politics and Economics.
Campus Life:
- The campus was designed by the Frederick Law Olmsted & Sons architectural firm who also designed Central Park and it is beautiful!
- 99% of students live on campus all four years foster a true sense of community.
- About 30% of the students join Greek life but there is no pressure to belong.
- There are also 170 student organizations as well as athletic teams to be get involved with.
Fun facts:
- Denison Day is a daytime carnival and concert held in the fall of each year.
- Naked Week is a tradition that started in 2003 to celebrate beauty in every body. Students shed their clothes and streak across campus throughout the week.
- Students can apply to live at the The Homestead, a community of twelve students (per semester). Here the focus is on environmental sustainability and voluntary simplicity. The Homestead is located in the valley about a mile from campus and students usually walk or bike to class and events. Students pair up or take turns cooking meals on a wood burning stove and no meat is allowed.
