PD/CTLE

The Great Neck Teacher Center is an approved NYS CTLE sponsor (Continuing Teacher and Leader Education) for holders of Professional Classroom Teacher/School Leader and Level III Teaching Assistant Certificates. These certificate holders are required to successfully complete 100 hours of acceptable CTLE during the registration period (5 years) if they practice in a NYS school district or BOCES.

Once your workshop is complete, and you've completed the appropriate Course Evaluation, the Teacher Center will:
1) confirm your attendance in MLP for the number of hours you attended, and
2) forward the appropriate documents to HR.
After your paperwork is processed, you may login to MLP to print out a signed electronic copy of your Certificate as proof of completion.

The CTLE certificate includes:
-your name
-the title of the program
-the dates of the course
-the credits and hours received
-the category of course work (Content, Pedegogy, Language Acquisition)
-the authorized provider's name and identifying number
-the Teacher Center director's signature

Certificate holders are required to retain these completion certificates for at least three (3) years after the end of the registration period in which the CTLE was completed (8 total years).

For Teacher Center workshops prior to April 2018, hard copies of CTLE certificates will be held at the Teacher Center for a period of 8 years.  Since April 2018, these certificates have been digitally created and are held in MLP for viewing and printing.
Although records for workshops you completed are maintained in MLP for the time being, it is to your benefit to print these out and keep them in a file for future reference.
Please call the Teacher Center at (516)441-4697 or email Elena Giannone at egiannone@greatneck.k12.ny.us if you have any additional questions about CTLE.
